LBOH v.05: Hope.net Hack

Go ahead and stick your hand in there

Gizmodo has more images here

Someone has made my Little Box of Horrors (LBOH) a reality.  Great.  Now, I need to stock up on Cenobite repellent if this PC goes into mass production.

Obama-rama
I heard about this on Air America radio who heard about it from Wonkette.  I previously named Randi Rhodes and Ana Marie Cox here as cool Digi-chix.  These two ladies lurv presidential candidate Barack Obama, but apparently some hacker does not care for the Illinois Senator.

The Obama campaign apparently bought the internet domain "Hope.net" and Wonkette reports that it got hacked. The WHOIS registration does indeed list Bill Burton as the domain contact.

Wonkette has a screenshot image of the Hope.net hack showing the words:

SPREAD THE WORD!  BARACK OBAMA HAS NO SECURITY ON HIS WEBSITE!  WILL HIS ADMINISTRATION HAVE NO SECURITY?

When I checked the Hope.net hack, the message had changed.

Hope.net Hack v2.0

Despite the big red admonition to the media, all links lead to HillaryClinton.com.

If you've read this far, you may also want to read the comments posted on Wonkette.  Most people have come to the conclusion that this whole thang is just a fun alt.2600 hoax for April Fool's day.

While it may not turn out to be a huge media issue or a homeland security problem, it did allow me to read a little bit-o-wiki about the ancient Chinese philosopher, Zhuangzi

I feel so totally enriched by the experience.
